Dave Reddin

World Class Expertise

After completing undergraduate and masters degrees in sports science at Loughborough University, Dave spent 5 years working for the sports council at Loughborough, providing sport science services to a wide range of sports, including hockey, netball, canoeing, professional cricket and football.

In 1994 he began working with Leicester Tigers RFC, still in the amateur era of rugby union and continued to work with the club through to 1997, winning a Pilkington Cup title in 1996. In 1996, Dave joined the rugby union fitness project, based at Loughborough University and assisted in supporting all of the age group teams including the England senior team with Jack Rowell.

Having worked with Sir Clive Woodward and Andy Robinson with the England U21 team, Dave joined the RFU and the England team full-time after the World Cup in 1999. Over the next 4 years, as part of Sir Clive Woodward's senior management team, Dave contributed to the most successful period in England Rugby history, culminating in success at the 2003 Rugby World Cup. In this time, he also implemented the England Rugby injury audit project, the most comprehensive study of injury in professional sport so far conducted.

Dave defined and implemented one of the most renowned and successful sports science programmes in world sport, which supported the success of players such as Will Greenwood, Martin Johnson, Jonny Wilkinson, Neil Back and Lawrence Dallaglio. He was honoured with an MBE in 2004 and awarded a place in the UK Sport Coaching Hall of Fame. He left the RFU and rugby in 2006 after 2 World Cups, 1 Lions tour, 10 Six Nations Championships and over 100 international test matches.

Dave is currently a consultant to the British Olympic Association and is helping to develop the next generation of elite athlete support. Dave consults widely across sport including professional football clubs, sporting organisations and individual athletes.

Dave has vast experience of the needs, pressures and demands of elite level sport. He has a unique insight and experience of the factors involved in success and failure in high performing organisations. He is a passionate leader in his field, who challenges convention and has a track record of winning solutions.
